What is Real Personalization!?

There has been a lot of talk about personalization and customization. In some circles, personalization and customization are the same thing, and that when you customize something it is in fact personalized. So, I ask you, is a pen with your name on it personalization or customization, or neither? What about if you put some logo on it? Is it then customized? If i buy something prepackaged (like a cell phone skin) in the store, and "slap" it on - have I really customized anything, or just decorated it with someone else's design?

While it is a thin line that separates it, it is important to at least be aware of the difference. To me and our customers, customization means that you are able to design exactly what you want from scratch. Personalization then means that you and your friends can actually "define" you in your environment that you present yourself in. No one else can create the way that you do - thus when you do create something, other people can actually tell that it is you (without necessarily having a picture to tell them). Make sense? Should you care? In other words, you will be able to tell that it was your best friend that designed a Tego skin for their cellphone, because you, as their friend, can identify with the way in which they project themselves to others, in the design choices and freedom of expression that they designed with on our website. This is REAL Customization and REAL Personalization. Freeform thinking or freeform creativity could probably be a better word. Anyway you slice it - having the ultimate choice of how you want it, where you want it, what you want it to look like is completely up to our customers.

More new videos on the mytego nation youtube site.

This time we added a video on putting a Tego Skin onto the Sony Playstation Portable PSP. This is the newer slim version. Fits nicely and looks cool too. We've also got a new video of a Tila Taquila Xbox 360 Guitar Hero controller Tego Skin that we designed with some hot images of the lady, Tila Taquila.

We're also trying to put a youtube feed together here; - or try the link directly http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/mytego/uploads

Mytego.com hits youtube

The revelation of youtube is upon us! Mytego is finally getting with the program, and putting some web videos together. The videos are actually kind of fun to make, so you are going to see some more, and more, and more! [maybe that Hollywood career should be re-opened?!].

The first video is pretty simple, as we are just getting our feet wet and figuring out how to use the software that makes things gosh darn pretty. It is a video of an apple ipod nano (2007) [which I will add, is one of the most popular devices that people get Tego skins for]. Apple is a great company - they make these wicked devices that are like perfect as a canvas to put some nice images on with a tego skin. Plain no more! Go figure!
